My boyfriend's mom is a vegetarian because its better for your health. Fish is good for you though, apparently.

Vegetarian diet is better IF you have a lot of variety. If you just eat a few foods that are meat free you will have a lack in vitamins. If you eat grains, nuts, beans, fruit and vegetables it is great for you. Plus studies show that having a vegetarian diet can lower your risk of heart disease and cancer, especially colon cancer because meat products can be found in your colon like 20 years after you stop eating meat... something about us not digesting it right.. i dunno. Vegetarianism or veganism can be an extremely healthy lifestyle, if you eat well and exercise.
