Dont like the taste vs. Dont like the way animals are treated?

For all of the vegetarians out there... do you not eat meat because you cant stand the taste, or do you not eat meat because you feel that it would be cruel to the animals? Just wondering.

Answers:
Combo of the way animals are treated + what meat does to your body.

The few vegan friends I have were upset over the cost of meat and whatever chemicals may still be extant in the meat.
Other. I don't eat meat for health purposes
Meat is GOOD!!
my bast friend's mom is a vegan because it is part of their relegion and family history I think.
my friend does not like all the chemicals in the meat and believes it is truly unhealthy and too expensive to eat organic meat, I am a carnivore and would kill a cow,if I had too, luckily the grocery store has a slaughter house that provides that service
Meat when not properly slaughtered or handled and preserved tastes and looks revolting.
i'm a vegetarian because... well i always was.. i don't know why.

i've had meat.. but it gives me acid reflux... i don't know why maybe it's the fats in it or something.
I don't eat meat for a couple of reasons. One: I hated red meat before I officially decided to become a vegetarian. I could not stand the taste of it and blah. Two: I felt as if it went against my ethics. At the time I was thinking I wanted to be a veteranian. To me eating meat went against all I was trying to accomplish. Last, and the most important one to me: I do it for religious reasons. God created the earth and all the animals. We were instructed to care for them. In Eden, no body ate meat. It not only keeps my body pure, but allows me to live in away that they did before the fall.
its cruel to animals
fyi - meat doesn't contain chemicals. i don't know where all these people get their information. the USDA doesn't allow it because it's unhealthy. check out their website if you are skeptical - www.usda.gov.

it's not good for you to keep yourself from getting the proteins found it meat. the body needs proteins to function, and cutting meat out of one's diet is a very easy way to make sure one doesn't get all the nutrients necessary for a healthy diet.

i eat meat and love the taste.

We have canine teeth and big molars for a reason people. They are for eating meat! If we were meant to be vegetarians, we would have small, flat teeth for grinding down plants!
what do you mean I eat meat all the time
There's a place for all Gods little creatures... right next to the potatoes and gravy...yummmmmy
Meat is good, it's just the chemicals that the animal is shot with. I'm also afraid of mad cow disease. My uncle died from it last year.
I don't like the way the poor animals are being treated. They help us survive so I think we should help them. Plus there just sooo cute..
I always loved the taste of meats such as steak & hamburger.

I confess I still do eat organic chicken and also seafood. It's a decision that people make on an individual basis.

After reading some books like Slaughterhouse and Mad Cowboy - I really went cold turkey on hamburgers, steak and pork. You read those books and you'll know why!!! I just couldn't handle the way they inhumanely slaughtered those cattle.

Organic foods taste much better, look for certified organic, try the veggies, fruits and whole grains you'll be surprised at the difference. Most typical manufactured foods today are bland and full of garbage.
For me, it's both. I have found that I can live without meat just fine and when I look at it, I'm grossed out. I also hate the way animals are treated.as if they had no feelings or intelligence. It shows a lack of humanity.
im both i hate the taste of blood therefor i hate meat and i cant stand the killing of animals.i do eat eggs however so i am not vegan and i eat dairy.cuz eggs do not have the embryo (they are laid daily at a farm that is all hens)and dairy does not hurt the cow it helps it (if the cow has too much milk it will feel uncomfortable)
