Another Vegan Question?

I have been a vegetarian for 2 months and I want to be a vegan. I have studied about the cruelty to cattle, chicken, fish, pigs, and every type of animal used in animal testing. I am sick of it. I want to be animal cruelty free for my life. I know I will have to make sacrifices on items such as some soaps and skin products, and on foods such as milk and eggs. But I am willing to do this.

I need names of any good testing-free shampoos, soaps and other beauty products. I also need names of soymilks, tofu, cheese substitutes, and other foods that take the pace of all dairy products. Support to my efforts would be appreciated.

PS: No smart a** comments, please.

The Peta site has lists of vegan products. Go to www.veganessentials.com and familiarize yourself with vegan brands. VegNews is a great magazine that has ads with vegan products in it so you can add to your "safe product" list by scanning their pages. Subscribe, it's a nice reminder that other people are making same efforts as you
Also, read the "How Vegan" page at VeganOutreach.org
http://www.veganoutreach.org/howvegan.html
They have great booklets to shut up family who want to nag you about your "bizarre" idea of being kind to animals.
www.vegweb.com for recipes
www.vegsource.org for health related stuff
www.supervegan.com for excellent news bites.

PS: I just laugh at the smart a** comments, they are ignorant. God bless their empty little heads.

Panhandle Girl does great vegan, handmade soap and lotion and stuff. All the girls I know love her stuff.

http://www.panhandlegirl.com/ When you eat a vegetable it dies, too. Animals would not do well if they weren't thinned out.

We are animals, animals eat animals. Yes, I know, not all animals eat animals. It is in our nature to eat animals. Why would you want to go against nature like that?

<Soy milk is becoming very common these days, Silk among the most popular. And yo can find egg-substitutes in almost any grocery store. I'm fairly certain that Suave doesn't test on animals, but I'm not sure. You can tell by reading the back of the bottle. Although I'm not vegan/vegetarian myself, I wish you luck!! :)

Good for you, I'm sure all those poor innocent animals will be really pleased that your not going to eat meat or any products of animals.

I can feel the animals being saved already.

As far as hair care, Australian organics and natures gate are 2 that I know of but there are many more. You should try to google cruelty free companies. Keep in mind that although many companies dont test on animals, there still may be animal derived ingredients.

Veggie slices are pretty decent and melt well. Smart Balance makes a "buttery Spread" that is 100% vegan and better then most other spreads or margarines in my opinion. shampo and i think they make soap too= white rain (and its cheap which is a plus!)
also bath and body works are test free! which is good!
good luck with the veganness ive been veg for a yr and a half and i wanna become egan i just dunno if i can do it! Im a vegan. And this website always helps me with knowing who is cruelty-free.

http://www.caringconsumer.com/resources_companies.asp you just gotta get out there and try some of this stuff, everyone has their own tastes. you can get soymilks and vegan foods everywhere these days, even at walmart supercenters.

there's tons of decent shampoos and soaps and stuff too. go to a health food store like whole foods, wild oats, henry's, trader joe's etc, and they've got it all.

regular stores like safeway, etc have pretty big sections too that have all that stuff Silk and Westsoy are good soy milks. For soaps and other beauty products I suggest you make your own. You'll save money too. Yahoo has many groups which can help you get started (236 actually!) http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=soapmaking&submit=Search
will give you the full list.

Good Luck!
