we are looking for a theme for are party, we already have to gift exchange thing in place but this year we want to do some thing differnt and actually have a themed xmas party

I think Casino night would be fun, or like a Texas Hold 'em tourney, everyone throws in 5 bucks, winner takes all, have lots of finger foods, but places to sit and things to do when people get taken out of the tournament, such as maybe movies, or play pool or darts or whatever. Everyone can come in some kind of card player theme clothes, or old western clothes, dance hall girls or something like that. Also, maybe have some door prizes, hit the dollar tree or Wal-Mart and pick out one really good prize like a little DVD player, then some little nice gifts, hats, scarves, kitchen gadgets, try to make sure everyone gets something.
pick one aspect of christmas and go with it...random tree like decorations, snowmen, sana clause, the north pole, santa's workshop, the elves, presents, snow, reindeer. anything christmas specific then just go with it

Try Santa's helpers and have everyone draw a number from 1-18 then let them buy one or two gifts for someone that age. Take the gifts to a children's shelter or your local protective services office for children who come into care at that time.
Have Vegas night and play games with cash donating the money to the charity chosen by the winner beforehand. ask each person to come with a brief skit on their charity and why they chose them
Have everyone pick a number 1-5 and then bring in bag or two of food to feed that many people for one day non perishable that included breakfast lunch and dinner or just one meal with people picking a number and a meal ie a family of 3 for lunch. then donate the food to a local pantry
pajama time; have everyone draw again and let them buy PJ's for a boy or girl, woman or man and then buy PJ's in whatever size they choose. take them to a residential shelter or red cross
ask everyone to find the most unique blanket, throw, quilt or comforter they can find along with $1. have a vote or judging panel and the winner takes the money-all the quilts get donated to a homeless shelter

Hello- Have a meeting to see what others would like to do. A nice dress-up is nice. Maybe a come as you are, have a pot luck, D.J. drinks cheap.Motels if needed.Just have a good time.

adopt a family in need...gather food, gifts for kids and give it to them
play greed. everyone brings a $5 gift. put the gifts under the tree and have everyone draw a number. #1 gets a gift from under the tree and opens it. #2 can take the first gift or get one from under the tree. #3 can take one of the first two gifts or draw one from under the tree. If #3 takes #1 gift,#1 gets to get another gift from the tree and opens it. And so on. Once possession of a gift has been obtain by one person three times, the gift is out of play. Lots of fun! Be creative and you don't know what you may get!
How about a winter wonderland. Everything white / silver / sparkely. Is it going to be a sit down dinner? If so, use silver chargers / napkin holders, etc. Tablecloths white, clear glasses and candle holders. Then use LOTS of irredescent ribbon / sparkles. White bunting (either sheer cloth or netting) on the walls with balloons/ribbons. Everyone dresses up - suits,etc.
Close down the liquor service from oh, say 6pm to 8pm and adopt a few needy families and feed them a holiday dinner and gather gifts for the kids. You could also send them home with some food to prepare for Christmas day.
When that party is over carry on with the business.
Disco Xmas Party. Dress Disco-ish! But Festive for the occasion. Kinda cheesy but probably alot of fun.
How about a Hawaiian Tiki bar X-mas theme? Grass skirts, coconut bras. Santa in a mumu.etc...?
