I want to host a "ladies night party" at my house for a couple of friends. Any ideas?
The purpose is to unwind, get away from our hubbies and just have girl time talking with fun activities!

I have LOTS of ideas on the subject...
You could rent some "ladies triumph over men" chick-flicks to watch- hey- why not have a marathon?? (Chocolate and popcorn provided, of course! :)
Depending on your budget, you could hire a masseusse or two to come and give massages. If this seems way-out-of-range, you could send invitations asking that your gal pals all pitch in to pay for their massage. If that seems tacky for you though, don't do it.
You could do eachother's manicures and pedis (maybe during a movie), and you could all bake a cake together. Why not turn on some music from your younger years and just dance?? Sounds fun to me!! :)

If you have a big budget, stock up on the liquor and hire a bartender for a couple of hours. a lot of barmen freelance on the side, and it makes a party very classy, I think. Check out craigslist.com for your city. and make it a dress up party with a color theme, like a "red party" or blue or whatever. every girl loves to dress up. Enjoy your party.
well if you are really open minded and not too prudish might i suggest having a "slumber party". Kind of like a tupper ware party for grown up ladies but lots of fun but not for shy girls. I went to my first one last year and had so much fun and never laughed so hard. they are very discrete. I am not sure how to reach them but the company is call Slumber Parties. If any of your friends are easily offended though, I don't recommend.
have a potluck or cater it...that way you are not stuck in the kitchen prepping for it all. have cards available to play, find someone who sells lingerie and have them come over...that is always fun...

I have an annual 'girls sleepover'. no hubbies or kids allowed. Even my hubby/kids gets kicked out for the night and go to grammas. I'm a massage therapist,so i give massages to whomever, someone else does our nails,at some point gossip kicks in. They byob,and I serve fun foods. Have fun! btw~we all teach kids w/ spec. needs so we definately need a break!

My favorite one was when we got together and drank mudslides and watched b grade disaster movies. They are so much funnier with a good drink.
You could serve mai tais and watch Elvis' Hawaiian movies

I went to a friend's house and she had a sex party thing where a lady from a company, something like slumber parties, came and we saw a lot of toys and fun looking things if you know what I mean. Spa rituals are always good, very relaxing. Perhaps ask your friends to suggest one thing each they would enjoy doing on their night off....
