How many actually prefer the box powder type macaroni n cheese as to the other kinds?

Question:
do you ever doctor it up adding anything to it?

Answer:
I actually enjoy it alot, mainly because my kids love it and love to eat it all of the time. The box kind is good. The secret is more butter, less milk.

My wife makes an awesome homemade mac & cheese, though. Gotta love mac & cheese!
sorry,i much prefer home made. lots of melted cheese on top, mmm!
silly me only made the boxed kinds for my kids when they were little :( (usually because of time/lack of money) now i know better the boxes save neither

Unfortunately now thats all they like--- its tooo bad as homemade is so much better and there are soo many recipes out there.

when i do use the box i rarely serve it as is- toooooo bland
i use real butter (NO margerine) real milk and add some shredded cheese (any leftover variety will do) then i add cooked ground hamberger (well drained and in small pieces) to the mac & cheese

add a salad or raw veggies as a side and is a quick/easy meal (tho i personally prefer homemade- oh well)

just my opinion

No way, homemade baked mac and cheese is best in my opinion.
My kids still eat it and I probably would still eat it if I didn't have anything else to cook, but I do prefer the homemade version now that I'm an adult. I use four different cheeses in mine.
I like the powder kind the best of boxed. The kind that already has the "cheese" in a packet has a tangy taste to it in my opinion. But nothing beats homemade =]
Home made is best with real cheese baked in the oven. Although as most Canadian students I ate a lot of Kraft Dinner and got used to it. For economy I tended to just use what was in the package skipping the margarine and milk, I got to prefer it more tangy and less sloppy and sometimes would add ketchup or BBQ sauce. If there was some extra money I'd cut up some hotdogs and have them with it like beans and weiners. I'd still take the Kraft Dinner over frozen Mac & Cheese type.
I don't. Baked macaroni and cheese is the best in my opinion. I can eat the boxed kind too. But it's like eating cheese soup with macaroni. It also has a really processed flavor and texture.

I would try to learn how to make baked macaroni and cheese if I were you. The boxed kind is just as messy to make, but it sucks.
I like pretty much EVERY kind of mac and cheese.
But sometimes I just crave the box kind.
When I was a kid we always had it with hot dogs.
Now I like to load it with pepper. I have also seen people eat it with ketsup, mustard ...mixed with beans.
Add ham chunks, broccoli, more cheese, bacon.a million ways to eat it. I pretty much like it just the way it is...with hot dogs!
I usually do prefer the good old blue box to most homemades.
It's what I grew up with.
Now if the homemade is made with really sharp cheeses, that's really good. But if not, give me regular old kraft.
It's funny, on most things I'm really a foodie. But on this, I'm just not sophisticated at all. :)
It's what I grew up eating. My mom never made home made mac n cheese, and most of what I got was the really runny gross kind that they made at school. LOL
It's an addiction that's stood me for 50+ years. Sure I love the homemade variety! But being homebound, disabled and bedridden for the last 5 years, I'll take what's easiest for my husband and he makes a mean box of mac. We add Italian tuna packed in Olive Oil, or just any tuna if that's not in the pantry [I order it from http://www.ditalia.com] and then bake it until bubbly and crusty in the oven; or straight up, with hamburger, or hotdogs. Yum, yum, yum.
My son loves mac and cheese. I will make him a box and if I'm hungry I will also have a bowl. I do prefer the Swanson frozen kind though. Or deli.
