What is Creme Fraiche? Where do you buy it?
Answers:
It's a dairy product, rather like a thick sour cream. It's mostly used in savoury dishes. You'd find it in the chiller cabinet of your supermarket along with the other dairy products.
Other Answers:
it is french for fresh cream and can be found in the dairy section probably near the whipping cream
Crème fraîche is a slightly tangy, slightly nutty, thickened cream. Before the age of pasteurization crème fraîche made itself as the bacteria present in the cream fermented and thickened it naturally. Crème fraîche is widely available in Europe, but much less so in the US, where most all cream is pasteurized, and therefore has to be fermented artificially. There are commercially produced versions available in select gourmet shops, but it is hard to find and quite expensive. Considering how often it is called for in recipes these days, it is surprising that it is so rare.
yes like very like cream found near yoghurts and cream in the supermarket

You don't buy Creme Fraiche, you make it. It's very easy.
1 cup whipping cream
2 tablespoons buttermilk or yogurt
Combine in a glass container, and sit at room temperature for 5 to 8 hours, or overnight to thicken. Then refrigerate.
Makes 1 cup
It will keep in the refrigerator for a week.
