Warm, soapy water and a used dryer fabric softener sheet. Soak for about 20 minutes. Then wash the pan.

Worked for me!
Put water in the pan (deep enough to cover the dried egg) then put on the stovetop on a low simmer till it comes loose. It usually takes 10-15min...but its well worth it.
ORRRRRRR feel the pan with a little bit of water so that its covering the entire surface, add a tiny bit of dish washing liquid and boil it on the stove for a few minutes. Not only will the soap send off a nice fragrance, but the rising temperature in the water will break all of the hard eggs off the pan. Works for me everytime...

Soak with water and soap and use a pan scraper. Handy little gadget!
Soak in some water. 30 minutes is long enough. Use a plastic scouring pad to scrape of the remaining bits.
You put a little water in the pan ,then you heat it on the stove ,while taking the spatula and scrapping it off. This will remove all the food that sticks to the pans when you cook.
Scraped it!!! If you choose not to scrape it, add a couple cups of water to the pan and then boil it, to soften the grit. Make sure you watch it, so it doesn't dry up again.

use a scrubbie sponge
Whenever I have dried on food in a pan, I fill it with water and then boil it for a while. The food loosens and is removed with just a hint of elbow grease.
If you're in a hurry, use hot water and a little bleach, let it soak for a bit.
try letting it soak in hot water and detergent.
put some water in the pan. put it back on the stove. heat it up. when it gets hot, leave it on the heat, scrape it with a hamburger flipper. turn on hot water in sink. dump it out in sink, add faucet hot water, put dish washing liquid on it and scrub it with a sponge.
this works on the worst messes.
fill it with hot soap water. After you let it soak for a whil (say overnight) take a scrubber (ex. a brillo pad or scotch brite pad) and scrub away.
I'd say, let the pan/skillet soak in hot soapy water for a bit then keep trying to scrape it off.
Believe it or not, this REALLY WORKS for stuff stuck in a frying pan or if you forget and leave a pot or pan on the stove and the WATER evaporates and the pan blackens: Put a laundry DRYER SHEET in the pan- heat up the pan w. a little water, let it sit a few hours and VOILA-- it cleans up very easily-- no scrubbing necessary.

I read this in the newspaper. I didn't believe it until I had a pan blacken from letting the water evaporate by mistake.
