Haggis Spaghetti Sauce
Haggis is really excellent in spaghetti sauce. Even the super-finicky oldest child said she liked spagehetti better with the haggis than with regular ground beef! Hah!
(Now, mind you, the kids are a bit too young to have been exposed to the 'haggis is something too gross to contemplate' ... but still, that's a victory in my book.)
Ingredients:
• haggis
• spaghetti sauce
Directions:
I like to cook spaghetti sauce from scratch, but for Tildy's sake, I'll keep that part simple. J used Paul Newman's and some other specialty sauce mixed together.
Defrost haggis in microwave. Crumble into simmering spaghetti sauce. Cook until oatmeal in haggis is tender. I used to always make my own spaghetti until I visited a friend and tried hers! She uses Paul Newman's Sockarooni sauce. It already has the onions and peppers and the right amount of spices. I add some fresh mushrooms and sometimes ground beef or spinach, toss with some form of pasta and it's delicious!
