What are cracked black peppercorns? (found it in a recipe for falafel)?
Answers:
Pepper you have for putting on your food is ground up peppercorns. Usually black ones. They do come in white and some recipes will call for those, so the dark doesn't show in what you are making. You can find whole and cracked peppercorns (both kinds) in the spice section of your grocery store. If they don't have the cracked, put some of the whole in a baggy and hit with hammer to crack them. Pepper mills are what you put whole peppercorns into and it grinds it into the pepper you regularly use for seasoning your foods.
Other Answers:
It's just peppercorn that has been crushed, not ground like you normally buy pepper. You can buy it at just about any grocery store
it is very simple you use black pepper alll the time Do you ever wonder where it comes from well it comes from whole pepper corns I think cracked means crushed. But if you can't find them at the store, grind some pepper corns. I think they come in a jar, that's also a grinder.
