what is a good dinner i could make for my mom to impress her?

keep in mind i'm kinda young!

Answers:
Depending on your skills in the kitchen there are several good meals that can impress people. The first meal I ever made for my mother was a small roast with diced potatoes some buttered carrots and a light salad. It was a hit. Now my father was impressed when I made mac and cheese for him with ground meat and diced tomatoes... try cooking what she likes, not something too fancy just simple and basic. It is indeed the act of making the meal FOR her that will impress not what the meal is made of.

Other Answers:
Buy "hamburger helper" fettucine alfredo. Don't use hamburger though, put shrimp in it instead. Tastes super yummy, and it's really easy to make.

Serve with garlic bread and a salad.

Fresh strawberries for dessert.
Lasagna
Chicken pie! bye
well i dont know where you live cuz it somehow depends but keeping in mind that you are young i would suggest pasta, pretty easy, boil it, get the prego tomato sauce from foodmart or something, make a salad, am sure u know how to make that, lettuce salad or tomato and lettuce, use dressing, add the kind of meat you can do, meat or chicken whichever you are comfortable with cooking, i would suggest chicken, boil it till its completely done, there would be soup left if you would like to use that just add herbs and salt and pepper, after u boil take out the chicken and byrex plate or something that can handle heat, butter the chicken and then put it in the over or microwave, then it will look delicious and grill skinned. there
i am hungry already lol, i hope that was easy for ya, good luck, dont keep any stove eyes lit without needing them.
Pasta Salad. Boil 1 lb of noodles for 8 minutes. Drain, rinse with cool water. Then toss together,
1/2 cup of Crumbled Feta Cheese.
1/2 c or 3/4 c of Parmesean Cheese
1 cup of drained, pitted & chopped Kalmata olives (or black olives to substitute)
1/4 c of chives
1 cup of cherry or grape red tomatoes (cut in half)
1 cup of baby, washed spinach.
Toss with nearly one bottle of "Newmans Own" Vinegerette Italian dressing (or any good italian dressing)... serve immediately or chill in refriderator.

It's a really nice, delicious, "spring" oreinted meal. It's sooo good and easy. She'll be amazed you made it.
Have fun!
Your mom is going to absolutely love anything you make her. She's lucky to have a child like you.

Temperatures are getting warm. How about a gourmet salad? You can buy some field greens, red bell pepper, scallions, black olives, and then add a little bit of broiled sliced chicken, sliced beef, or prawns. Just toss with a good asian-style dressing and sprinkle with lightly toasted sesame seeds right before serving, put it on the table with some iced tea and fresh bread or rolls, and you're done. And she will love that you haven't messed up the kitchen much or overheated the house to do it.

Good luck.
when my friend's mom was sick, she made her a pb+j sandwich and her mom appreciated it a lot. I'm not saying that u necessarily have to make a pb+j sandwich, but you should just make something u can definetly make. ur mom'll like it b/c she's ur mom and they loved anything you do to make them feel appreciated and loved :)

make some speghetti hamburger helper. when its done, put it in a casserold dish, do like this: a little hamburger helper, cheese, pepperoni. keep layering like this. make sure you got cheese and peporoini on top. bake at 350 for a good 30-35 min or until cheese is melted. fix with a nice green salad with tomatoes and cucumbers in it. fix corn on the cob ( frozen kind ) and garlic bread. tell her its your own recipe you came up with
SPAGHETTI! Every mom loves spaghetti. If you make it use:
1 box of noodles(spaghetti style)
1 can of traditional spaghetti sauce
1 lb. of hamburger meat
First you brown the hamburger meat then you boil the noodles. When boiling any type of noodle make sure you add 1 tablespoon of oil to the boiling water, it keeps the noodles from sticking. After you have browned the hamburger meat and boiled the noodles, go ahead and add all three items together and heat them up. And then your done. Walla, and your mom loves it. Also make,or buy, garlic bread to make with it. My mom loves it hopefully your mom would!

Put boneless, skinless chicken breasts in 13" x 9" baking dish. In bowl, mix a can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 can of mushrooms and slowly stir in about 1/3 cup white wine. Pour this sauce over the chicken and bake at 350 for an hour (longer if the chicken breasts are thick). Serve with rice and a vegetable.
I think a nice thing to do would be to make her favourite, if it is easy enough.

Whatever you make, make sure the room is set up nicely. A tablecloth, nice napkins, etc., make the room look really nice.

I like Fettuccine Alfredo. It's quite easy, and it looks nice. You can pre-fry chicken strips, shrimp, even pieces of sirloin steak and put them on top just before you serve it. Make a fresh green salad to go with it (ahead of time).

For the recipe,

For 4 four people (cut in half for 2)
Takes 15 minutes to cook (not including chicken or shrimp)

You need:

1 1/2 cups whipping cream
2 1/4 cups grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (nice, or use a teaspoon of dried parsley)
1 lb Fettuccine

Cook Fettuccine according to the directions. Add a drop of cooking oil to the boiling water to stop it from sticking. Just before it is finished, start sauce. Then drain pasta and set aside for a minute.

Slowly heat the cream in a pot with a heavy bottom (so it doesn't burn). Whisk or stir in cheese gradually. Add parsley, salt and pepper, stir. Mix sauce and pasta together, serve by itself or with meat/shrimp on top.
