"2:20 pm - Same lottery numbers win game twice. Wisconsin lottery officials report the same combination has won the SuperCash game twice within ten days."

"What are the odds?
Winning Supercash numbers repeated three months apart

WAUKESHA - Just hope you didn’t change your magic numbers in recent months from 7, 10, 11, 17, 20 and 31.
If you did, you’re out $500,000 in Supercash winnings - and you missed a chance to miraculously defy odds that say the same combination of six numbers should only pop up twice every five years or so.

It just so happens those six numbers were drawn twice in the daily Wisconsin Lottery game with a $250,000 top prize a little more than three months apart - on Feb. 4 and again May 24.

Nobody, it turns out, was lucky enough to win on either day.

"It’s almost impossible, I would say," said Curt Smith, an avid lottery player from Waukesha who won the Supercash grand prize Dec. 13, 2001, a memorable date he rattled off without a hint of thought.

Well, it’s not actually impossible. Unlikely, but not impossible, said Kent Kromarek, an associate professor of mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha.

With 1,947,792 possible combinations, Kromarek tabulated that any two matching tickets would have a greater than 50 percent chance of appearing about once every 4 1/2 years.

But Kromarek also said the probability of a pair of matching tickets continually increases because every day’s drawing gives another combination for a possible match.

"Whether you think it’s a few or a lot, I don’t know," said Kromarek, who uses odds associated with lottery games in his classes at the local university.

Smith maintains that he’s skeptical about Wisconsin Lottery games, including Supercash, because they haven’t been televised in two years.

"Since they took it off TV, me personally, I don’t trust the lottery," Smith said. "They’re basically saying, ‘You can trust us.’"

Since Supercash started in 1991, Kromarek found five instances of the same six numbers showing up on a draw on two separate days - meaning it has actually happened about once every three years.

Wisconsin Lottery - administered by the state but not taxpayer-supported - doesn’t keep tabs on different combinations of numbers for Supercash or any of its six games, said spokesman Andrew Bohage.

"It isn’t all that peculiar to us," Bohage said. "How rare would it be for Powerball to have the same number picked for the Powerball two days in a row?"

The multi-state Powerball game involves a sixth pick from 42 numbers - or Powerball - after the regular five-number draw. So the chance of getting the same Powerball pick two consecutive days is one out of 42, or 2.38 percent."

"Tasty Vegetarian Chilli Recipe #149097
Chilli has always been my fave dish and i have tried many variations on the basic content. This is the best I've come up with. The ingredients can be varied personal taste, the final two ingredients are what makes this dish stand out!

1 (14 ounce) can chopped tomatoes
2 (14 ounce) cans red kidney beans, drained

1 hour 20 minutes 10 mins prep

Lightly sautee the coursely cut onion and pepper and sliced celery for 2-3 minutes, then add the crushed garlic and sliced mushrooms and cook for further 1-2 minutes. Drain, rinse and add the beans then the chilli, cumin and coriander. Gently cook this mixture for a couple of minutes then add the chopped tomatoes and the stock made in enough water to cover the mixture. This may now be cooked on a hob (on a medium heat ) or in an oven (at 180c ) for about 45 minutes. Stir 2-3 times whilst cooking and add water if needed. At this point add the bulgar wheat and tomatoe puree. More water may be added if neccessary and the basil and mint if desired (these mellow the spice somewhat or if you prefer your food extra spicy this is your last chance to add more chilli etc) and this is then cooked for a further 15 minutes. At the very end add the english mustard and the worcester sauce, These make this simple dish special. Salt and pepper to taste.
Serve this with wholegrain rice, garlic toast, and a green salad."
