Apple sauce in brownies?

I'm making brownies from scratch, and I have heard that I can substitute apple sauce for the butter, but is it an even 1:1 ratio? Such as 1/2 cup of butter substituted for 1/2 of apple sauce?

Also, has anyone tried this and how did it taste?

Answer:
It's best to substitute fat with applesauce in oil-based baked goods, such as the traditional quick breads and muffins, or cakes such as carrot cake. Substitute applesauce one for one with the oil, and in addition, add in 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. A little oil goes a long way in contributing to a better taste and texture
mhmm.my dad makes them all the time. They are so soft and very good.
yes you have the ratio and yes they are really good .
Yes, I believe it is a 1:1 ratio. You can also use canned pumpkin. And yes, they do taste good.
