Do you blanch fresh green beans before you freeze them?

Question:

Answer:
Yes. It's best to blanch them...take off the ends and either leave whole or cut in sections. Get a pot of water ready with a bit of salt. When it comes to a boil add your green beans and cook for about 3 minutes. Immediately drain and plunge into very cold water to stop the cooking process. When cold drain very well and pack in freezer bags. I like to freeze them in the quantity I would be using. Good luck!
