She doesn't want to buy pre-made burgers? Or she doesn't want to buy hamburger from the store to make her patties with?

If she simply doesn't want to buy the pre-made burger, then she can take ground beef (use 80-85% lean, anything leaner and they will be dry) along with minced onion, minced garlic, fresh ground pepper and Worchestishire Sauce to taste. Mix together and then form rounded patties -- do not flatten them.

If she doesn't want to buy the hamburger meat from a store or butcher, she can make veggie burgers from scratch.
Um.. what recipe? Buy ground beef. Make hamburger patties. What more is there?

100% Ground Sirloin
I thought you only had to form the hamburger into a patty. I guess that's why I don't cook.
She hasn't killed anyone lately, has she? She may just be trying to destroy the evidence!
well you start with good quality minced meat in a bowl
add a raw egg ... a pinch of salt & pepper half a large chopped onion mix well and make into patties fry both sides for 7 mins
1 pound hamburger (lean ground beef)
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
Salt, pepper & garlic powder - just a light sprinkle.
2 table spoons parsley.
mix well.
divide into 4 portions, and flatten them into patties.
Throw them on the grill until they are done.
The juice should run clear when they are ready.
Enjoy.
You will need…

* 750 g ground chunk steak, containing at least 25% fat (if very lean then add 200g of beef fat)
* 1 ½ tsp salt
* ½ tsp freshly ground pepper
* 4 Tbsp vegetable oil
* lettuce
* 1 tomato
* 1 onion
* 4 hamburger rolls
* ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise
* 1 frying pan
* 1 bowl
* 1 ring (optional)
* 2 trays
* cling film
* 1 spatula
* 1 knife
* 1 cutting board

Step 1
Mix ingredients for the burgers
Place the meat, fat, salt and pepper into a bowl and mix it all together thoroughly.

Step 2
Shape the burgers
Shape the meat into hamburger rounds, preferably large ones with 200–250 grams of meat in each one.
VIDEOJUG TIP
It is important to press the mixture together firmly so that the burgers don't fall apart during the cooking process. Use a ring if you have one as it is easier to press the meat down and keep it in shape.

Step 3
Refrigerate
Place the burgers on a plate and cover with cling film then place them in the fridge for a minimum of two hours.

Step 4
Prepare the garnish
Prepare the garnish for your hamburger. Cut the lettuce, slice the tomato and cut the onion into rings.

Step 5
Cook the burgers
Heat up the vegetable oil in the frying pan on a high heat. Once the oil is very hot put in the hamburgers and cook for two minutes on each side.
VIDEOJUG TIP
Alternatively, for a wonderful smoked taste, cook them on a BBQ.

Step 6
Put them in the over for further cooking
For medium cooked hamburgers transfer them to a baking tray and put them in a preheated oven at 250°C for five minutes.

Step 7
Add garnish and serve
Once cooked, add the garnish and serve in a hot roll together with chunky chips.

One pound of hamburger usually makes about 4 hamburgers. So it depends on your family's size or hunger.
For every pound of hamburg chop 1/2 of an onion very finely. Add about 2 teaspoons of garlic powder, per pound of hamburger. Add 6 tablespoons of worstechire sauce per pound. Take your hands and mix it all together and grab and handful of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Flatten the ball about 1/2 inch thick with your hands. Cook on stove top or grill. Enjoy.

Use ground from chuck. Mix in spices you like(a little garlic,minced onion,olives,even crumbled cheese if you prefer). You can really use your imagination when making up your own patties! ENJOY! ;-)=
6 slices bacon

2 pounds ground chuck (80% lean)
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper

6 thin slices extra-sharp Cheddar cheese
6 hamburger buns
6 crisp lettuce leaves
6 slices ripe tomato
Ketchup (optional)
Mustard (optional)

In a large sauté pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp, 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove the bacon and set aside on paper towels to drain. Remove the pan from the heat.

Gently shape the ground chuck into six burgers of equal size and thickness (about 3/4 inch thick). Season both sides of the burgers with salt and pepper.

Grill over Direct Medium heat until the internal temperature reaches 160°F for medium, 8 to 10 minutes, turning once halfway through grilling time. Top each burger with a slice of the cheese during the last minute or two of grilling time and allow the cheese to melt. During the last 30 seconds, grill the buns over Direct Medium heat until lightly toasted.

Serve the cheeseburgers hot on the toasted buns with a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato, topped with a slice of the bacon. Serve with ketchup and mustard on the side, if desired.

Makes 6 servings.

HAMBURGER

To serve two-four, you will need

500g mince beef ( MUST BE LOW FAT )

1-2 finely chopped onions

2 pieces of white bread ripped into small pieces

salt and pepper

1 teaspoon worcestershire OR tabasco sauce (optional)

1 packet hamburger buns

2 tomatoes, sliced

1 handful of lettuce

tomato sauce

mayonnaise

1 tin pineapple rounds

1 tin beetroot

Add raw mince, bread pieces, onions, salt and pepper and chosen sauce into a large bowl and mix together until combined.

Shape the mixture with your hands into patties the size of the buns you wish to put them in.

Flatten the patties slightly, as they will shrink while cooking.

Cook on the BBQ for the best flavor.

However if you do not have a barbeque, use a fry pan with a very small amount of extra virgin olive oil.

Or cook under griller / broiler.

These should take around 20 minutes to cook, if you are unsure, cut one in half and check it is cooked through.

Once the burgers are cooked, assemble, with for example - sliced tomato, beetroot, lettuce, tomato sauce, mayonnaise and a piece of pineapple.
Well, you've already got some pretty good recipes. I do mine with a pound of ground beef (80/20) and one large minced onion, salt and pepper. I don't add egg because sometimes it makes it sticky.
Now here's the trick: if you make patties with your hands, you could get them thin at the sides so they burn quickly. One of my friends told me to put a piece of foil or plastic wrap in a jar cover (round jar cover of a nescafe jar or something), and use it to shape the patties. This way you get all your patties exactly the same size and of perfect thickness too! Hope that helps.
