One jigger (1.5 oz) of 100 proof vodka has 124 calories.
Calorie content of all distilled alcoholic beverages is the same, depending on the proof.

An ounce of hard liquor (gin, vodka, rum, whiskey, or scotch) contains 64 calories for 80 proof varieties, and 80 calories for those that are100 proof.

The alcohol in 3 - 4 drinks could be contributing anywhere from 192 - 320 calories at only one ounce per drink; and if you add mixers, it will increase the calorie content by another 100 - 120 calories.

Wine at 12% alcohol only has about 77 calories per 4 ounces, so it comes out way ahead of the hard liquors. And it's supposed to be good for you in moderation, too!
It all has some calories, you are better off just drinking what ever does the job right.
Any kind of whiskey with a splash of water is good. Jack Daniels on the rocks.

I love how people come in here and preach the virtues of not drinking and having a glass of water instead.
dont b a hippie drink beer!
Heard that the Russkies are inventing a diet vodka which is low calorie, doesnt give you a hangover and cures AIDS. They call it the Chernobyl disaster phase II.
